Jet Martinez
Artist Reception:
Thursday, August 6th from 6pm-10pm
Jet Martinez is a San Francisco based painter and muralist. Both his paintings and mural work can be found around the US as well as around the world. ‘Pop Flora’ his is new body of work which examines the contrast of organic forms with systematic patterning; patterns are created using a systemic approach to color and geometry. These patterns then serve as a matrix for organic forms, usually based on plants the artist has photographed, to dwell within. The resulting images seem to vibrate off the surface of the painting, creating an illusion of movement.

"We are spirits in the sacred vessels of bodies who come to this place to celebrate the sensual beauty of existence. These ideas are the central inspiration to my art. I see flowers as beautiful expressions of the sensitive creativity of the life force, sensuous sculptures in living colors."

It's pretty simple, really. When we have spare time, we photograph her. She's our mutual muse.
She may be the explicit subject, some part of her, some famous part.
She may linger in the background, letting her understated Victorian beauty frame the scene.
She may dwell in the details, her famed initials etched into the hand of a lover.
She may not be visible at all, but she's there -- her whimsy, her independence, her charm.
Who is she?
She is our city. She is THE city...
She is San Francisco.
One city. Two perspectives. SF 2.0. Enjoy.
Paccarik Orue
